Tomorrowland Chonburi : A Historic First in Asia
In December 2026, Tomorrowland, the famous Belgian electronic dance music (EDM) festival, will be held for the first time in Asia, in Chonburi province, located near Pattaya.

Why Chonburi?
The organizers and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) chose Chonburi for several reasons:
Vast available spaces on private seaside land.
Excellent accessibility via three airports: U-Tapao, Suvarnabhumi, and Don Mueang, as well as a good road network.
An existing tourism infrastructure: hotels, resorts, transport, and local communities ready to welcome visitors from around the world, including pre- and post-festival packages.

Scale and Investment
The festival will take place over 2 to 3 days in December 2026. The total investment is estimated at several billion baht, with a potential annual budget of around 10 million USD over at least five years, marking a long-term contract with the promise to turn the event into a local institution.

More Than a Festival: A Cultural and Educational Project
Beyond the concerts, the project includes the establishment of an “Event Academy” aimed at training Thai entrepreneurs and event organizers to international standards. Furthermore, there will be strong integration of Thai culture: stages inspired by local mythology, modernized night markets, traditional cuisine, and a spotlight on emerging Thai DJs and artists alongside international headliners.
What Impact on Thailand ?
This project is part of a broader soft power strategy and cultural positioning for Thailand. Speaking on the subject, the Prime Minister (at the time of the announcement) emphasized the importance of this initiative to boost national creative industries and promote cultural exports. The TAT also expects to increase tourist arrivals, estimating the event will attract hundreds of thousands of international participants.
